THE AMERICAN HEARTBREAK FESTIVAL

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

We the Producers...In Order to form a more perfect Festival, have established a new Launch Date for the Inaugural American Heartbreak Festival.

It is a time for change...In that spirit, Tramp Art Theatre Club Artistic Director, Josh Brolin and Street School Artist Collective President, Vincent Riverside are pleased to announce a series of sweeping transformations to our vision for AHF:

1. Launch date moved to February 2009. Still a six-day festival, the exact dates will be announced shortly.
2. New Works, New Writers. Rather than a Competition, we will present One-Acts from New Voices deserving to Be Heard.
3. All Submission Fees Waived. To those who previously submitted a check to us, you may have noted that we have not cashed it. In fact, these checks will be destroyed forthwith.
4. New Submission Deadline December 31st, 2008. If you have yet to submit a piece, you now have additional time to do so. If you have previously submitted a One-Act, feel free to submit additional pieces.
5. Addition of Spoken Word. In addition to stage works, short film, music and multi-media live improvisational theatre, AHF will now also feature spoken word. If you know any artists working in that genre, spread the word so they can submit either taped or text examples of their work.

Let the word go forth that the torch has been passed to a new generation... We come together in community, to raise our voices, to celebrate and to mourn, everything we are as Americans. We the people...
