Jason's professional acting career began unexpectedly at the age of twenty-six in San Francisco, California. While working as a Financial Advisor for Morgan Stanley, he attended an off-Broadway performance of the long-running improvisational show, “Tony and Tina's Wedding”. So inspired by the free-style, improvisational energy of the show, Jason stuck around to chat with some cast members about joining the cast, and scheduled an audition for the following week. Within a month, Jason was offered a lead part in the show, and eventually was cast as the lead actor, Tony, which he played for most of 2001.
“Tony and Tina’s Wedding” ended its San Francisco run in December of 2001. By this time, Jason had established enough local connections to continue acting part-time. He has appeared on stage in numerous productions in both Los Angeles and San Francisco with the SSAC, where he currently serves as Co-Managing Director. Jason also starred in the local independent comedy short, “Open Up”, for which he won a Best Supporting Actor award in the Fall 2004 Short Film Screening Series in New York. Currently, Jason has two more independent films in post-production, scheduled for release in 2006: "It's All in a Night's Work", written and produced by SF’s Johnny Love, and "Devil's Canyon" by the Bay Area indie production company Upward Rising Development (URD). Currently, you can also catch Jason as a co-host of “Soundwaves TV”, an hour-long SF Bay Area-centric music television show, for which he has also received production credit.
In addition to his performance resume, Jason has recently started writing and directing both scene studies and one-act plays for the SSAC. Fresh off a successful original scene study he wrote, directed and starred in called “Intensive Purposes”, Jason's latest writing endeavor culminated in a one-act play performed in San Francisco in early 2006.
Jason was born in upstate New York, and grew up in Southwest Florida. He is a graduate of Stetson University in DeLand, FL.
