| Moniqua
was born and raised in San Francisco and much
to the chagrin of those NorCal purists is now
a resident of Los Angeles. She started performing
at an early age on-stage as an actor, a ballerina
and in the rink as an ice skater. She left the
city by the bay to earn her degree in Literature
and Drama from the University of Colorado in Boulder,
where her parents will be happy to learn, she
mainly honed her snowboarding skills. Back to
San Francisco, she studied Acting and Improv at
the American Conservatory Theatre, worked in commercials,
voice over, independent film and most fortunately
found the Street School Artist Collective. Eventually
the call of the wild got to her, hence the move
to Los Angeles, where life has been good to her.
Her latest film, Up the Man, ran the festival
circuit, won some awards and is surely en route
for an Oscar. Listing her numerous other Film
and TV credits, most recently the Gilmore Girls
and the season finale of Girlfriends for UPN/Paramount,
would appear indulgent, but she believes mentioning
that she can do a damn fine yoga headstand is
entirely appropriate. |
