Street School is my vehicle. I am a storyteller.
Be it words on a page, my body in action or
images in my lens I tell stories. It's who I
am and what I do. And Street School is my vehicle.
I was born in Santa Barbara, California. Growing
up in Santa Barbara is like being made. She
will always seduce you with blue skies and a
cool ocean breeze. But like the Land of the
Lotus-Eaters, you can lose your sense of direction
there. Now I hang my hat in Los Angeles, and
it's a dirtier, grittier world.
I've done a lot of different things to earn
money in my life, but now I spend my life on
stages - I am a stagehand by trade, and it gets
under your skin. Old Joke: The circus came to
town, and at the end of the parade, there was
a guy sweeping up the elephant poop. A man approached
him and asked him if he ever thought about finding
a different job. His reply? ‘What? And
Quit Show Business?
Been a lot of places, seen a lot of things.
I tell stories. And Street School is my vehicle.
Get in the Car!
My name is Bruce McBurney.
